Moving Day Community Walk is coming to Erie, CO at the Coal Creek Park! You don't want to miss this! As one way of celebrating OT Month, OTAC has decided to partner with an organization who works with a population many of us see daily: people living with Parkinson's Disease. Our OTP community is getting together to help raise awareness and funds for the Parkinson's Foundation. This is your chance to speak up about Parkinson's and take action. Your support will help the Parkinson's Foundation advance research, provide educational resources, and fund programs that make life better for people living with Parkinson's disease. To learn more about the Parkinson's Foundation, go to parkinson.org

This year is our Inaugural OT Month Walk, and is being hosted by the Northern District. Who will take the banner and host a walk next year? To accommodate OTPs who cannot make it in person for this walk, there is a Virtual Option as well! We hope you will take time to celebrate the work you do as an occupational therapy practitioner, and also support an organization working on common goals.

Registration

We ask that everyone who plans to attend Community Walk please register by clicking the Register button at the top of this page. There is no registration fee to participate, but a donation is very much appreciated.

If you are an *occupational therapy practitioner* who is attending the walk, please consider purchasing a shirt from the "Inspiring Hope, Changing Lives" collection for this year's OT Month merch. We plan to take an epic photo of all the OTPs who show up for this walk to use when we challenge other states and AOTA to adopt a charity for subsequent OT Month's

If you are a community member, friend or family of someone with Parkinson's, we encourage you to purchase a T shirt to wear to the walk from this Bonfire website. We'd love to take a photo of the community members who show up to raise money for the Parkinson's Foundation and support OT Month.

Please fill out this form if you would like to secure a spot as an exhibitor at this event. This is a FREE exhibition option, to celebrate our inaugural year. If you have questions, please e-mail info@otacco.org.

How To Participate

Throw on your yoga pants, lace up your sneakers and join us at Coal Creek Park in Erie, CO on April 26th to join the fun. As true Coloradans, the event will take place in rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Our Home Base will include a picnic shelter and tables, but be prepared for the unexpected! We hope that the late April date will avoid anything too wild, but this is still Colorado. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via this website, e-mail, and our social media channels. We're planning for good weather, and even if we have a sprinkle of rain, we invite you to bring a picnic lunch, some chairs and blankets and plan to stay after the walk for socializing, lawn games and time spent celebrating our wonderful community of OTs. This is a BYO situation, so load up on some snacks and beverages and extend the fun of the afternoon. We will also have some exhibitors present, so plan for some time to peruse their offerings and learn more about community offerings.

Donations

Cash and check donations will be accepted at the event. If you prefer to make a credit card donation, please click on the Donate button at the top of this website page. Please make checks out to the Parkinson's Foundation and mail them to:
