Welcome to our Moving Day® Team Page!
You may be wondering, “Double or Nothing”? What does that mean? Well, when we were growing up, competition was fierce in the Sadar household. Whether it was volleyball, ping pong, or pool, Uncle Jim was never one to take it easy on his adversary. 50 push ups were the usual form of punishment for the losing side. As we got older, there were rare occasions when Uncle Jim would lose (although he may tell you otherwise). On such occasions, Uncle Jim would say, “Double or Nothing!” This wise move usually resulted in him winning the following match and getting away with doing no push ups. Now that I’m thinking about it, has anyone actually seen him do a push up…?
A short while ago, my Uncle Jim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. It has affected his life in many ways. We are all rallying together behind our Uncle Jim in a walk for Parkinson’s Disease. I want to show him that he has a great support system and we are always there for him and his family to lend a helping hand.
In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD. Join our team for the local Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
