Dear Family and Friends,

I am participating in Moving Day® Chicago, benefiting the Parkinson’s Foundation Chicago, on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Lincoln Park – South Fields.

The event will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.

Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.

Why Move for Moving Day?

Did you know that someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease every 9 minutes in the United States? No one should have to face Parkinson’s alone. That is why the Parkinson’s Foundation provides a community of support to give people the resources and help they need to live well with Parkinson’s.

Support our mission to help every person diagnosed with Parkinson’s live their best possible life now. Your gift will help us fund better research, better treatment and better lives.

Last year, I participated in Parkinson’s Moving Day Atlanta with some family and friends.   We had a great time and I think we all learned some thing new about movement and  how it impacts Parkinson’s Disease. I raised $1500  So this year, since I have relocated, I am participating in Moving Day- Chicago and  I have upped my goal to $2000 !

The Parkinson’s Foundation does so much to improve the lives of millions of people living with this disease – from funding much needed research to sponsoring free seminars in many communities and online on topics related to management of Parkinson’s Disease for patients as well as caregivers.  I recently attended a seminar on Nutrition and PD. Two well known practitioners presented some of the most recent research findings in this area. Based on this information,  I made some changes to my diet that I feel have increased the length of time my medications are effective.  This is just one small example of the difference the Parkinson Foundation makes and will continue to make, but they need our help.

Please consider making a donation and helping me reach my fundraising goal! Any amount you could give would be greatly appreciated!

Love,

Julie
