Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello, my name is Carrie and I am participating in Moving Day DFW, benefiting the Parkinson's Foundation. I am moving in honor of my dad. In 2015, one of the doctors in our hometown had noticed that he had an abnormal gait, which later we found out was the shuffling gait associated with Parkinson's Disease. This disease has not only challenged his physical abilities, but also his cognitive abilities. Growing up, my dad has always been one of the most hard working people I knew. An ex-marine, he worked at the steel mill near our hometown for 45 years, before retiring only after the environment became unsafe with his disease. My dad did all the maintenance on our cars and around the house, and would even buy used cars that he would fix up and sell on what came to be known as his “used car lot.” He had one of the best personalities and would always crack the best jokes. Unfortunately, Parkinson's Disease has stripped a lot of this from him, but I can still see his true self shine through at different times of the day.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved. Support our mission to help every person diagnosed with Parkinson's live their best possible life now. Your gift will help us fund better research, better treatment and better lives.
Did you know that someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease every 6 minutes in the United States? No one should have to face Parkinson's alone. That is why the Parkinson's Foundation provides a community of support to give people the resources and help they need to live well with Parkinson's.
Please make a donation today! Your gift will support the Parkinson's Foundation mission to improve care and advance research toward a cure.
Thank you for joining the fight against Parkinson's!
