Welcome to our Moving Day® Team Page! We are walking again this year in honor of my grandpa, Dale Farr who has had Parkinson’s for 23 years. Still to this day, we can’t get him to stop moving.

This foundation is vital for people both living with it for years and newly diagnosed. Last summer, I volunteered at an event, and saw first hand how many people rely on the free literature, lists of resources, and seminars to stay up to date on the ever evolving information and treatment options. They also provide free patient safety kits. Many do not realize that Parkinson’s is not well understood by all in the medical community. Often when a person with PD is admitted to a hospital there can be a struggle between the patient and the nurses about the importance of not missing any medication times. PD treatment is complex, not every nurse or doctor will be well versed. The patient safety kit helps a person with PD explain to the nurses and doctors what needs to happen while they are in the hospital.

Again all the resources are free because of amazing donors. Please consider donating or joining our team.

In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.

Join our team for the local Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day® walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
