Welcome to our Moving Day® Team Page Bowsman Strong.
From Bob Bowsman
A lot of you know me to be a carpenter and a runner. Not anymore I am 71 and completely retired and do not run anymore.
Five and a half years ago a friend, Dave Hendricks asked why are you walking funny. I didn’t know I was. To make a long story short 2 years later I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Sometimes it’s not bad other times it can be quite difficult. Some will ask do you feel as good as you look. Not really I’m a lot slower doing normal things like buttoning a shirt, etc. My left side is affected the most- arm, leg, foot, hip, neck and a lot of other symptoms. I have Parkinson’s 24/7 and it is progressing. Overall I am doing pretty good and being thankful to the good Lord above it could be a lot worse.
I am participating in Moving Day® Louisville, benefiting the Parkinson’s Foundation, on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Seneca Park. To raise awareness of Parkinson’s. They are making life better for us by improving care and better treatment. One in every 100 over age 60 will develope Parkinson.
As of now I have 25 people joining my team, Bowsman Strong, in walking and donating for this cause.
One of our motto’s is move it or lose it. I plan on doing my best to keep moving. Any financial support will be appreciated.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the Parkinson’s Foundation.
