Janet Reno and John Kozyak knew each other for more than 30 years and well before either of them had any familiarity with Parkinson’s Disease. Now, their families are way too familiar with Parkinson’s and have joined together to increase awareness and to raise money for the Parkinson’s Foundation’s mission to make life better for everyone living with Parkinson’s through research and the best care. Movement in almost any manner is highly beneficial to people living with Parkinson’s and Team Kozyak & Reno wants you to join it on Sunday, November 12, 2016 in Museum Park in Miami.
Janet Reno is sorely missed as the champion of everything right and righteous. Her brother, Mark, also had Parkinson’s when he passed away in 2014. Both of John’s parents had Parkinson’s until they passed away in 2015 and 2016. Parkinson’s Disease is very, very personal to the Reno and Kozyak families as they support, love and honor Janet and Mark Reno and Marilynn and Bill Kozyak. John has been the Chair of the Parkinson Foundation since the merger between the National Parkinson Foundation and the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation in August, 2016. Janet was the Honorary Chair of Moving Day Miami for several years and participated while she was physically able. Hunter Reno has been a strong supporter of the PF and the need for more, excellent care in terms of exercise and physical therapy Her Aunt Maggy is also very supportive.
In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.
Join Team Kozyak & Reno for the local Parkinson’s Foundation (PF) Moving Day® walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help PF continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
