Welcome to Hammer’s Hippy Hippy Shakers Moving Day® Team Page!
This is our fourth year participating Moving Day NC Triangle. Hammer’s Hippy Hippy Shakers supports Eric Hammergren, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in April 2014. Since that diagnosis, Eric continues to #fightbackagainstPD. One of the ways he does that is through Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s. Eric boxes four days a week and that program has improved his stamina, strength, balance, gait, and his fine motor skills. He even can go longer between medicine doses. We also have an amazing community of people who have PD and their caregivers.
In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.
We’ve been blessed to have wonderful friends, family members, colleagues, and clients who have supported Hammer’s Hippy Hippy Shakers in the past. We hope you will join our team again this year as we support the local National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) Moving Day® walk. It’s the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help NPF continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
