Welcome to our Moving Day® Team Page!

I was diagnosed with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease in 2015 when a trembling in my hand became more noticeable.  Luckily, for now, it is only affecting my left side.  My doctor advised me to find ways to exercise (I’ve never been a fan of exercise).  I always believed that I exercised enough in my daily life with my job, kids, etc., but I was told that is not enough.  Walking is a great form of exercise!  My doctor also told me that I need to find something relaxing to do – mind and body wellness, it is believed, can both slow the Parkinson’s progression.   My relaxation comes from painting, a hobby I started a couple of years ago.  Hopefully, creating outlets for mind/body wellness will slow the progression!

In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.
