I am once again walking to beat Parkinson's Disease!
The disease seems to be progressing slowly for me and I've been able to keep most of the movement symptoms at bay with a program of home exercise and boxing classes. This Fall, I participated in a research study at Mercy University on the impacts of an indoor cycling protocol on Parkinson's Disease symptoms.
In May, TEAM SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL and I will be participating in this year's Parkinson's Moving Day Walk to honor friends and family members who live with Parkinson's, to support those who love and care for patients and to assist those researchers who are working to end this disease. Incidentally, there have been two recent scientific discoveries in the Parkinson's field. One indicates a new population of previously unidentified brain neurons tied to Parkinson’s Disease which could be a breakthrough in diagnosis and progression tracking. The second study shows that a skin test was able to reliably detect Parkinson’s disease, The skin test is commercially available to your doctor and is being used to contribute to diagnoses by some clinicians, empowering highly targeted clinical trials for new treatments and delivering new insights about the biology of Parkinson’s disease.
Please support me in the fight against Parkinson's by making a donation. Last year you generously helped us raise $8,426 and our goal this year is $9,000.
Together, let's make a life-changing difference!
Thank you!
