Ken Thurman experienced symptoms for at least two years before being formally diagnosed in August 2017. Following the diagnosis, Ken committed to living as well as possible with Parkinson’s by staying active, maintaining a positive outlook, and focusing on gratitude. Ken is supported by his wife, Marcia, who serves as a dedicated care partner. Stop by the Real Talk table and get candid with Ken and Marcia!

Ken currently serves on the People with Parkinson’s Advisory Council (PPAC), as an Ambassador, and as a Research Advocate, and is also a member of the NJ/PA Chapter Board. His primary contribution has been reviewing and critiquing grant applications, drawing on a long career as a university faculty member.

Moving Day has raised $55.9 million and brought more than 218,000 participants together.
