Why move for Moving Day?
Get out and move with your community. Every dollar raised supports the Parkinson’s Foundation mission to make life better for people affected by Parkinson’s disease (PD). At Moving Day walks across the country, we’re fighting Parkinson’s and celebrating movement — proven to help manage Parkinson’s symptoms — and we’re doing it together. #Move4PD
Funds raised through Moving Day support the Parkinson’s Foundation mission by:
- Delivering quality care to more than 196,700 people living with Parkinson’s
- Funding cutting-edge research to improve treatments and advance toward a cure
- Providing free resources for people living with Parkinson’s and their families
Since 2011, Moving Day events across the country have gathered more than 150,000 participants and raised over $30.8 million to improve care and advance research toward a cure.
What happens at Moving Day?
The safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff is the Parkinson’s Foundation top priority, which is why we are altering the tradition from community walks to socially-distanced, in-person events, or you can join us online at Virtual Moving Day instead. We know everyone has unique concerns and needs, so we invite you to help us beat Parkinson’s in whichever way makes you feel comfortable and most safe.
Find a Moving Day event near you and register to stay up to date on how your community is coming together safely this year.
Who Do You Move For?
With nearly one million Americans and 10 million people worldwide living with Parkinson’s, the Parkinson’s Foundation makes life better for people with Parkinson’s disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. No matter why you’re moving – whether it’s for your mother, grandfather, friend or simply because you want to make a difference in the world – this year’s Moving Day event lets you honor your why at a socially distanced, in-person event or you can join us online at Virtual Moving Day from the comfort of your home.
