Announcing the Moving Day SLC 2026 Event Honoree – Rob Warner

The Parkinson’s Foundation is proud to announce Rob Warner as our 2026 Moving Day Salt Lake City honoree. Rob Warner is the captain of the Pedal to Phoenix WPC 2026 Utah Team. He is leading a 21 day cycling journey from Salt Lake City to Phoenix, Arizona in May. They will start their journey at Moving Day in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 2.

Rob was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2007 at the age of 33. He is married to a wonderful wife and has 4 amazing children. At the time of his diagnosis, his youngest was 3 months old. Rob feels extremely fortunate to have beaten the odds with PD; beating the averages of “normal” progression. He attributes this to the power of prayer and faith, excellent doctors using the latest and best treatments, and the benefit of intense exercise. He is a huge advocate for the benefits of cycling in helping slow disease progression.

Rob has been an active member of the Parkinson’s community advocating for the ban on Paraquat at the 2025 Parkinson’s Policy Forum, and continuing to share his story through work with various Parkinson’s nonprofits.
Rob has created, hosted, or participated in many fundraisers with efforts equal to $30,000+ in funding for Parkinson’s disease.
He has recently started his own charity, Cycling to End Parkinson’s Disease. His charity is dedicated to advancing the knowledge and power of exercise as a critical treatment in PD.

In July 2023, Rob attended the World Parkinson’s Congress in Barcelona Spain.
The Pedal to Barcelona was the first time that the PD community initiated an organized ride to the World Parkinson’s Congress. Teams rode from England, Spain, and Italy. This inspired Rob to do the same for the World Parkinson’s Congress in Phoenix this year.

Rob’s advice to anyone fighting PD is how important it is to exercise everyday you possibly can! It doesn’t matter what it is, find something you’ll do because you enjoy it. Boxing, cycling, dancing, Tai Chi, walking, jogging, yoga whatever it is, just get up and move! We can’t give up, we can’t let it in!

Moving Day has raised $50.2 million and brought more than 202,000 participants together.
