Moving Day San Francisco Day of Event Information

Where do we park?

All-day parking is available at Four Embarcadero Center Garage, Three Embarcadero Center Garage and Two Embarcadero Center Garage. It is first come, first served. These garages will be open to other cars visiting the area that day. You can enter off of Clay Street, Drumm or Davis. There will be a flat rate of $10 for walk participants. You must have a voucher from Moving Day to get the rate. You will be able to get a parking voucher from the volunteer/t-shirt check in booth. As exiting the garage is automated, you must have both your parking ticket and the voucher to secure the $10 rate upon exiting.

Is public transportation available?

Embarcadero BART is the closest BART station to Embarcadero Plaza. MUNI is also nearby. Upon exiting the station, continue 2 blocks Northeast on Market Street toward the Ferry Building and arrive at Embarcadero Plaza on the left. For more information, visit www.bart.gov or www.sfmta.com.

Once we park, where do we go? If you park in the Four Center Garage, exit the elevators and head east to the Plaza. If you park in the Three Center Garage come up the elevators, cross Drumm Street at the closest location and walk east toward the Plaza. If you park at the Embarcadero Two Center Garage come up the elevators to street level, head toward Sacramento Street and follow Sacramento eastbound to the Plaza. If you arrive on BART or MUNI, exit the trains to street level and head toward the Hyatt hotel but continue past to the Plaza area.

If your pledges total $100 or more, you will receive an official Moving Day T-shirt. You may also qualify for other great prizes as you continue to fundraise.

Route

Both 1 mile, 2 mile and 3 mile routes will be available. We will be walking along the Embarcadero on the water-side of the street. The official route is still being finalized, and will be updated here once it is official.

Cash, check, and credit card donations will also be accepted on the day of the walk. These can be turned in at Registration upon arriving. You must fill out a donation envelope in order to turn in donations on site. These can be picked up at the registration tent.

What is a Movement Pavilion?

The Movement Pavilions are tents that will house exercise instructors teaching various classes of Parkinson’s specific movements. While the classes are geared to PD, anyone in attendance can join and MOVE with us any way they want.

What types of organizations will be in the Resource Pavilion?

We have a little sampling from organizations throughout the Bay Area. Medical groups like UCSF and Kaiser, PD Active, World Parkinson’s Congress and more! You can also visit our sponsor booths for a wide variety of materials and companies with information on PD. The full listing of companies will be available here as soon as they are finalized.
