Southwest Chapter to Honor Jamie Klein

Jamie is a Certified Nia 2nd Degree Black Belt Somatic Educator. Following three decades of traditional practices in Texas, Jamie discovery of Nia Technique in 2009 led her on a personal healing journey and relocation to Santa Fe.

Jamies Strong connection. connection to Native American culture was lifelong as was her love of music and movement. She answered her heart’s call and landed in Santa Fe the week that StudioNia Santa Fe opened their doors. In Jamie’s first year of teaching a student who was living with Cervical Dystonia, a movement disorder not as widely recognized as Parkinson’s, asked for one-on-one help in dealing with high levels of pain. Private work began, then group support in northern NM. Nia’s Moving to Heal specialty class was birthed in 2016 with strong support from the first Parkinson’s Support Group in Santa Fe. A vital community was built and nurtured.

For 15 years Jamie has been dedicated to building a community and guiding others towards sustainable health and joyful well-being in body, mind and emotion, no matter what the challenges may be. Understanding that we are all more alike than different is key. Curiosity and a sense of humor are vital! Self-love and compassion are a gift. Her students are her family, her joy, her heroes.

The work of Nia Moving to Heal is about AWARENESS and ACTION! That’s what Moving Day is all about! It is informational, experiential, educational, inspirational, playful and hopeful, a time of sharing, caring, talking the talk and walking the walk together as a community. It is a vital MOVEMENT towards finding a cure for Parkinson’s. Please join us on May 3, ’25 in Santa Fe. You can make a difference.
