We are so grateful for the continued dedication of David Fletcher and the entire Empower Motivation Fitness (EMF) team, who have consistently been one of our top fundraising teams at Moving Day Baltimore year after year. Their love for this community goes far beyond the walk, and we are so happy to have them back on June 6. This year, EMF Rock Steady Boxing instructor Maddie will be taking the main stage for a live Rock Steady Boxing demonstration, and you are not going to want to miss it. Come cheer her on and see firsthand what this incredible program is all about.
Empower Motivation Fitness is a Maryland-based non-profit founded by David Fletcher with a powerful mission: to help people living with Parkinson’s, MS, stroke, and other movement disorders take control of their well-being, mindful of limitations but always focused on possibilities. Their flagship program, Rock Steady Boxing, is a nationally recognized fitness program designed by and for Parkinson’s patients. Through non-contact boxing, participants work on balance, agility, speed, and overall conditioning. EMF also offers music therapy, art therapy, and Hear Me Now! Voice Fitness, and support groups. For care partners who are doing so much behind the scenes, EMF provides a Parkinson’s Support Group and Courageous Parkinson’s Conversations, a workshop series to help families and caregivers navigate the tough conversations that come with this disease.
