Moving Day Community Walk is coming to Effingham, IL! You don't want to miss this! Our community is getting together to help raise awareness and funds for the Parkinson's Foundation. This is your chance to speak up about Parkinson's and take action. Your support will help the Parkinson's Foundation advance research, provide educational resources, and fund programs that make life better for people living with Parkinson's disease. HSHS Rehabilitation and Wellness, Effingham, IL, operates a specialized team that treats patients with Parkinson’s disease. The physical therapy and speech therapy team has obtained a specialized treatment program for Parkinson’s disease. Seven members of the HSHS Rehabilitation staff have completed specialized and individualized training for LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD treatments. Extensive training was accomplished through the Parkinson’s Foundation. With this specialized education, the team is better equipped to serve the patients and their caregivers of this community. Donations from this “Moving Day” event will be donated to the Parkinson's foundation. The donations from patients and their families will aid the Parkinson’s Foundation with further resources, education, and research for treatments of this disease.

Registration

We ask that everyone who plans to attend Community Walk please register by clicking the Register button at the top of this page. There is no registration fee to participate, but a donation is very much appreciated.

How To Participate

Throw on comfortable clothes, lace up your exercise shoes and join us at Richard Workman Sports Complex on May 6th to join the fun. The event will take place in rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via this website and on the local radio station.
