What to Expect at Moving Day
Put on your Moving Day gear and comfortable shoes – it’s time to move! Get ready to exercise, explore Parkinson’s resources, join in the uplifting We Move Ceremony and enjoy the Moving Day Walk. You don’t want to miss out on the inspiring day we have planned for you!
Moving Day will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via email and the Moving Day website.

Location: Wald Park
Location & Parking
The event will take place at Wald Park, located at 1973 Merryvale Rd, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216. Look for directional signage as you approach the parking area. You can park at any of the parking lots at Wald Park. Look for the big white tents and try and park closet to those. Volunteers with yellow vests will be on hand to assist you.

Check-In/Registration
Moving Day begins at 9:00 am. Visit the check-in/registration area to grab your event program, drop off donations and pick up your Moving Day Rewards card if you’ve earned Moving Day fundraising rewards. We highly encourage online donations before the event. Don’t forget that all participants must register at MovingDayBirmingham.org beforehand.
Schedule of Events
9:00 am: Event begins – please arrive at this time to get the most out of Moving Day
9:00 – 9:30 am: Passport challenge, vendor visits, kid’s zone and more.
10:30 am: We Move Ceremony begins, followed by the Moving Day Walk, the event ends after the walk.
Walk Route
The Moving Day Walk is for participants of all ages and abilities: a ½ mile.

Restrooms
Restrooms will be available in the building near the playground, look for signage.
Refreshments
Enjoy assorted beverages, coffee, and light breakfast snacks.
Pets
Moving Day Birmingham loves our furry friends. Please feel free to bring your friendly leashed dogs.
Donations
Drop off cash and check donations at the check-in/registration area. Credit card donations can be made online or through the Parkinson’s Moving Day App. You can also mail check donations to the provided address, ensuring to include a note with the participant’s name for proper credit.

Moving Day Rewards
Registered participants who raise $100 or more will receive an exclusive Moving Day T-shirt. More details about additional Moving Day Rewards can be found here. T-shirts and other rewards will be available for pick-up on the event day at the Rewards Tent, except for the All-Star Mover Zip-Up Hoodie Jacket, which will be shipped after the event to qualifying participants.
