What to Expect at Moving Day
Put on your Moving Day gear and comfortable shoes – it’s time to move! Get ready to exercise, explore Parkinson’s resources, join in the uplifting We Move Ceremony and enjoy the Moving Day Walk. You don’t want to miss out on the inspiring day we have planned for you!
Moving Day will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via email and the Moving Day website.
The walk will include a ¼ mile short route and a longer 2-mile route.

Location & Parking
The event will take place at Soldier Field South Lot located at 459 E. 18th Street. Look for directional signage as you approach the parking area. Parking will be available on-site in the South lot adjacent to the event area. There is a $25.00 fee to park per car.

Check-In/Registration
Check-in begins at 8:45 am. Visit the check-in/registration area to grab your event program, drop off donations, and pick up your Moving Day Rewards card if you’ve earned Moving Day fundraising rewards. We highly encourage online donations before the event. Don’t forget that all participants must register at MovingDayChicago.org beforehand.

GREATER CHICAGO MUSIC THERAPY – DEMO #1
Greater Chicago Music Therapy serves adult individuals and groups with dementia, neurodiversity, various neurological disorders like Parkinson’s Disease, and in hospice care and travel to where our clients call home. At Moving Day, our team will lead participants in a brief musical exercise circuit. While playing instruments in a nontraditional manner and intentionally moving to popular rhythmic songs, the participants will get a snapshot of how music therapy can help with endurance, strength training, and maintaining motivation. MOVEMENT REVOLUTION DEMO #2
demo will consist of functional movements seen in classes/1:1 sessions, blended with our Neuro-intensive exercise model. The demo will challenge both your physical and cognitive abilities by moving the body with mindfulness while challenging cognition. Sequencing, coordination, dynamic balance and dual-task exercises will be combined to offer a sample of neuro-intensive exercise. All are welcome as we will have two variations of each exercise to be inclusive for all!
ROCK STEADY BOXING UNANIMOUS DEMO #3
Witness the power of Rock Steady Boxing! Join us for an inspiring demo showcasing how this dynamic program improves balance, coordination, and overall well-being. We’ll cover boxing basics – punches, head movement, and footwork – giving you a taste of the sweet science and how it fights back against Parkinson’s.
Walk Route
The Moving Day Walk is for participants of all ages and abilities: The walk will include a ¼ mile short route and a longer 2 mile route.
Restrooms
Portalets will be available on-site in the North end of the lot.
Refreshments
Enjoy bottled water and light refreshments on-site.
Pets
For everyone’s safety, please leave your pets at home.
Donations
Drop off cash and check donations at the check-in/registration area. Credit card donations can be made online or through the Parkinson’s Moving Day App. You can also mail check donations to the provided address, ensuring to include a note with the participant’s name for proper credit.

Moving Day Rewards
Registered participants who raise $100 or more will receive an exclusive Moving Day T-shirt. More details about additional Moving Day Rewards can be found here. T-shirts and other rewards will be available for pick-up on the event day at the Rewards Tent, except for the All-Star Mover Zip-Up Hoodie Jacket, which will be shipped after the event to qualifying participants.
