Important Safety Information
Our priority is to bring our community back together while continuing to keep everyone safe. We will closely follow all CDC, state and local safety guidelines.
What to Expect at Moving Day
Participants are invited to put on their Moving Day gear and join us in person at the Soldier Field – South Lot. This year’s event will put our community’s energy on full display as we celebrate movement together. Bring your friends and family to exercise, learn about Parkinson’s resources, participate in the We Move Ceremony, and enjoy the Moving Day Walk. We can’t wait to see you at this inspiring day!
Moving Day Chicago will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should extreme conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via email and the Moving Day website.
We Move Ceremony
At this year’s event, you’ll experience a powerful We Move Ceremony at 10:00 am that will unite us in our commitment to move against Parkinson’s. Be sure to pick up an I Move Ribbon representing your connection to Parkinson’s disease before the ceremony on the Moving Day Stage.

Registration, Donations & Fundraising Rewards
ALL WALKERS MUST BE REGISTERED. It is always free to register for Moving Day Chicago! Walkers not registered before October 15th at 3 p.m. must register on site using a QR code we will provide. Advance registration is highly encouraged to avoid wait time and congestion during check in.
Fundraising incentives will be tracked prior to the event and distributed at the Rewards Tent after check in at the Registration tent.
Participants who raise $100 will receive a Moving Day Chicago t-shirt. Anyone who raises $250 or more will receive a Moving Day Fanny Pack. Participants who raise $500 or more will receive a Moving Day Hat.
Participants raising $1,000 or more is an All Star Movers, and will receive a Moving Day Dri-Fit Long Sleeve Shirt and recognition on the national Moving Day website! All Star Mover shirts will be mailed directly to you after the event.
Cash, credit card and check donations will be accepted at the Registration. Checks should be made payable to the Parkinson’s Foundation. For faster check processing and appearance on your team page, download the Moving Day App, where you can scan them right in.
Directions: The event is located at Soldier Field – South Lot.
From the South:
Take I-94 N to exit 53C toward I-55 North / Lake Shore Drive. Then take the exit for U.S. 41 / Lake Shore Drive North, then take exit for 18th Drive. Moving Day Chicago will be on your right.
From the North / Northwest:
Take I-90 or I-94 South toward Downtown Chicago. Take exit 53 to merge onto I-55 N. Then, take the exit for U.S. 41 / Lake Shore Drive North. Exit at 18th Drive. Moving Day Chicago will be on your right.
From the West:
Take I-290 East toward Downtown Chicago. Merge onto I-90 / I-94 East toward Indiana. Then, take the exit for U.S. 41 / Lake Shore Drive North. Exit at 18th Drive. Moving Day Chicago will be on your right.
Parking: Parking is available for all attendees with a $25 fee in the Solider Field South Lot – directly adjacent to the event. Parking is just steps away from Moving Day Chicago’s event site, and you will have access to your car nearby the event at any time. Soldier Field’s vendor requires a $25 fee per car at this and all lots on Soldier Field property, so please consider car-pooling.
- Soldier field is easily accessible by the CTA Red, Green, and Orange Lines at the Roosevelt Station (1 mile walk to South Lot entrance)
- Accessible by Metra Electra District at 18th Street stop

When you arrive, please follow the Moving Day signs
ADA Restrooms: Will be available at Moving Day Chicago.
Refreshments/Snacks: Light healthy snacks and bottled water will be available in the Food Tent. Please carry additional snacks if you have special dietary needs or require a larger meal. You are welcome to bring additional snacks or water bottles. Alcohol is not allowed at Moving Day. Cooking out or setting up tents, tables or picnics is not allowed outside of Top 5 Team Tents.
Dogs: For the safety of our participants, dogs are not allowed at Moving Day.
Rain or Shine: Moving Day takes place rain or shine! Be sure to check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly. The event will move forward unless it is dangerous to do so! If conditions do warrant any change, announcements will be made on the Moving Day Chicago website. Please check the Moving Day Chicago website for any last-minute changes
Donations: Cash, check and credit card donations will be accepted on walk day.
