What to Expect at Moving Day
Get ready for a meaningful and energizing experience:
- Dress for the day: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
- Explore activities: Enjoy movement sessions, connect with local Parkinson’s resources and take part in the We Move Ceremony before the walk begins.
- Join the walk: Celebrate community and movement as we come together on event day.
Moving Day takes place rain or shine. Please check the forecast and plan accordingly. If weather-related changes occur, we’ll share updates by email, text and on the Moving Day website.

Location & Parking
The event will be held at Stewart Park, located at 1 James L Gibbs Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850. Follow the posted directional signage near the parking area.
Check-In / Registration
Check-in opens at 10:00 AM. Stop by the registration area to pick up your event program, drop off donations and collect your Moving Day Rewards card if eligible.
We strongly recommend making donations online before event day. All participants must be registered in advance at MovingDayFingerLakesNY.org.
You can also help us prepare by downloading the Fundraise for Parkinson’s App before event day to stay up to date with day of event information, and easy communication with your team.

10:00 AM – Registration Opens; Explore resources, enjoy activities, connect with the community
10:15 AM – 1st exercise demo
10:30 AM – 2nd exercise demo
10:45 AM – 3rd exercise demo
11:00 AM – We Move Ceremony
11:15 AM – Moving Day Walk Begins
12:15 AM – Final Awards at the We Move Stage
1:00 PM – Event Closes
Walk Route
Moving Day offers options for all ages and abilities, including a 1/4 mile route and a 1 mile route.
Restrooms
Restrooms will be available.
Refreshments
Bottled water and light refreshments will be available on-site.
Pets
Pets are welcome on a leash.
Donations
Cash and check donations can be dropped off at the check-in area. Credit card donations may be made online or through the Fundraise for Parkinson’s App.

Moving Day Rewards
Participants who raise $100 or more receive an exclusive Moving Day T-shirt. Additional rewards are available at higher levels. T-shirts and rewards may be picked up at the Rewards Tent.
Participants who raise $1,000 or more will receive the All-Star Mover Full Zip Lightweight Jacket via mail after the event.
