What to Expect at Moving Day

Get ready for an inspiring and unforgettable day!

  • Put on your gear: Lace up your comfortable shoes and wear clothes suitable for the weather
  • Dive into activities: Experience energizing movement sessions, connect with local Parkinson’s resources and take part in the uplifting We Move Ceremony, all beginning before our walk kicks off!
  • Enjoy the walk: Celebrate community and movement as we move together in the fight against Parkinson’s disease.

Remember, Moving Day happens rain or shine! Be sure to check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly. If there are any changes due to weather, we’ll notify you via email and text and update the Moving Day website.

Location & Parking

The event will be held at John Hunt Park, located at 3650 Alex Mcallister Dr SW, Huntsville, AL 35801. Follow directional signs towards the parking area.

Check-In/Registration

Check-in opens at 8:45 am. Stop by the check-in area to get your event program, drop off donations and pick up your Moving Day Rewards card, if eligible. We strongly recommend making online donations before the event. Remember, all participants must register in advance at MovingDayHuntsville.org.

Let us know you’re coming! Download the new Fundraise for Parkinson’s App and check in the day before so we know to expect you. You’ll still stop by the Registration tent upon arrival.”

8:45 am: Registration Opens
9:00 – 10:00 am: Explore resources, enjoy activities, connect with the community and join on-stage exercise demos. Kids activities are available.
10:00 am: We Move Ceremony
10:20 am: Moving Day Walk Begins
11:30 am: Final Awards at the We Move Stage

Walk Route

The Moving Day Walk is for participants of all ages and abilities: half mile option and a quarter mile option. The longer route is an out and back so you can turn around at any time. Click HERE for the walk route map.

Restrooms will be available

Refreshments

Enjoy bottled water, coffee, sodas, and light snacks on-site.

Pets

Bring your leashed pets along for the walk—we just ask that you clean up after them to keep the path pleasant for everyone.

Donations

Drop off cash and checks at the check-in area. Credit card donations can be made online or via the NEW Fundraise for Parkinson’s Moving Day app. You can also mail checks with a note including the participant’s name to ensure proper credit.

Moving Day Rewards

Participants who raise $100+ receive a Moving Day T-shirt. Check out additional rewards here. Pick up T-shirts and other rewards at the Rewards Tent. Participants who raise $1,000+ will receive the All Star Mover Sweatshirt after the event.
