The countdown is on—Moving Day Sacramento is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited to move with you!
First, a heartfelt thank you. Your support is transforming the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease, bringing hope, strength and resources to those who need it most.
What to Expect at Moving Day
Get ready for an inspiring and unforgettable day!
- Put on your gear: Lace up your comfortable shoes and wear clothes suitable for the weather
- Dive into activities: Experience energizing movement sessions, connect with local Parkinson’s resources and take part in the uplifting We Move Ceremony, all beginning before our walk kicks off!
- Enjoy the walk: Celebrate community and movement as we move together in the fight against Parkinson’s disease.
Remember, Moving Day happens rain or shine! Be sure to check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly. If there are any changes due to weather, we’ll notify you via email and text and update the Moving Day website.

Location & Parking
The event will be held at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, located at 2701 L Street Sacramento. Follow directional signs near the parking area. The event will be at the corner of L and 26th Street.
There is a Sutter parking garage at 1399-1317 27th St, Sacramento, CA 95816. The rate is $3-5 hourly. After you park, it is a 5-minute walk staying on 27th Street crossing Capitol Avenue, then Liestal Alley arriving on L Street.
Check-In/Registration
Check-in opens at 9:00 am. Stop by the check-in area to get your event program, drop off donations and pick up your Moving Day Rewards card, if eligible. We strongly recommend making online donations before the event. Remember, all participants must register in advance at MovingDaySacramento.org.
Let us know you’re coming! Download the new Fundraise for Parkinson’s App and check in the day before so we know to expect you. You’ll still stop by the Registration tent upon arrival.

9:00 – 9:30 am: Explore resources, enjoy activities, connect with the community and join on-stage exercise demos.
9:50 am: We Move Ceremony
10:15 am: Moving Day Walk Begins
11:30 am: Final Awards at the We Move Stage
Walk Route
The Moving Day Walk is for participants of all ages and abilities: 1-mile option and a 5K option. Click HERE for the walk route map.
Restrooms
Restrooms will be available on site and visible from the stage and ceremony area. There are additional restrooms at the halfway point of the walk route.
Refreshments
Enjoy bottled water and light refreshments on-site.
Pets
For everyone’s safety, please make sure your pet is on a leash.
Donations
Drop off cash and checks at the check-in area. Credit card donations can be made online or via the NEW Fundraise for Parkinson’s Moving Day app. You can also mail checks with a note including the participant’s name to ensure proper credit.

Moving Day Rewards
Participants who raise $100+ receive a Moving Day T-shirt. Participants who download the new Moving Day App can receive a pet bandanna! Ask for it at the Rewards Tent. While supplies last. Check out additional rewards here. Pick up T-shirts and other rewards at the Rewards Tent. Participants who raise $1,000+ will receive the All Star Mover Quarter Zip Fleece after the event.

Fleet Feet Early Packet Pick-Up
You can pick up your rewards and race packet early! Visit us on Friday, May 2nd from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Fleet Feet Store on 2311 J St, Sacramento, CA 95816
Dinger of the River Cats will join the walk and their will be balloon animals and art for the kids!
All-Teams Kick-off Celebration April 19th
Join us in celebrating Parkinson’s Awareness Month at our All-Teams Kick-Off Moving Day at Sutter’s Health Park. Enjoy a public service announcement before the River Cats game, the first pitch, and access to an information table on Parkinson’s resources. The proceeds will support research, education, and care.
