What to Expect at Moving Day
Participants are invited to put on their Moving Day gear and join us in person at Moving Day San Antonio. This year’s event will put our community’s energy on full display as we celebrate movement together.
Moving Day is more than just a walk! Bring your friends and family to exercise, learn about Parkinson’s resources, take part in our signature We Move Ceremony, and, of course, enjoy the Moving Day Walk. You don’t want to miss the inspiring day we have planned for you!
Weather
Moving Day San Antonio will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via email and the Moving Day website.
Registration
We ask that everyone who attends Moving Day register at MovingDaySanAntonio.org before the event, but walkers will be able to register onsite. When you arrive, pick up your walk bib, I Move Ribbon, and Moving Day Passport at check-in.
Program & Activities
To begin the walk, you’ll experience a powerful We Move Ceremony at 9:15 AM that will unite us in our commitment to move against Parkinson’s. Every registered participant will get an I Move Ribbon, representing your connection to Parkinson’s disease. You can use the ribbon during the ceremony and the We Move Exercises on the Moving Day Stage.
Schedule of Events
• 8:00 AM: Venue opens for parking; registration and check-in opens
• 8:15 AM: Sponsor and Vendor tables open
• 8:35 AM: We Move #1 (movement activity)
• 8:50 AM: We Move #2 (movement activity)
• 9:15 AM: We Move Ceremony
• 9:25 AM: Walkers meet at the Start Line
• 9:30 AM: Walk Begins!
• 10:00 AM: We Move #3 (movement activity)
• 10:30 AM: Closing Ceremony
Location & Parking
Moving Day San Antonio will take place at the University of the Incarnate Word’s Benson Stadium, located at 4301 Broadway, San Antonio TX 78209. Parking is free and volunteers will direct you as you approach the parking area.
The entry gates open at 8:00 AM for walkers to enter the parking lot. Any walkers arriving prior to 8:00 AM must wait to enter the venue.
Walk Route
The Moving Day walk is for participants of all ages and abilities. The walk takes place around the track; each completion is ¼ mile. The track is accessible to wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers – the entire family is welcome!
Health & Safety
Our priority is the safety of all participants, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and staff. First aid will be available at the Registration Tent.
Restrooms
Restrooms will be available on-site in the concession building and will be marked by directional signage. Portable restrooms will also be available closer to the track. All restrooms are accessible.
Refreshments
Bottled water and granola bars will be available onsite at no cost.
Pets
We love your pets, but they will have to join us at another time. UIW enforces a strict no-pets policy. Certified service animals are the only exception.
Sponsors
These companies will have exhibit tables at this event for attendees to learn about local and national resources, treatments, and services. Additional exhibitors will be in attendance.
Donations
You can drop off cash and check donations at the Registration Tent. If you prefer to make a credit card donation, please do so on the Moving Day website or the Parkinson’s Moving Day app before Moving Day. If you want check donations to appear in your fundraising total sooner, use the mobile check deposit feature in the Parkinson’s Moving Day app or mail them to the address below.

Moving Day Rewards
All registered participants who raise $100 or more will receive an exclusive Moving Day T-shirt. Click here to learn more about additional Moving Day Rewards. T-Shirts and rewards will be available for pick up day of the event at the Rewards Tent except for the All-Star Mover crewneck, which will be redeemed and shipped post-event to qualifying participants.
Volunteers & Vendors
Please see the event map to find the location of volunteer check-in and volunteer/vendor parking. All volunteers & vendors will enter through the North entrance. Open volunteer shifts are available here.
All vendors must bring wagons or dollies to transport materials from their cars, as they cannot park right next to the exhibit area.
