What to Expect at Moving Day

Participants are invited to put on their Moving Day gear and join us in person at Moving Day Southeastern PA. This year’s event will put our community’s energy on full display as we celebrate movement together.

Moving Day is more than just a walk! Bring your friends and family to exercise, learn about Parkinson’s resources, take part in our signature We Move Ceremony, and, of course, enjoy the Moving Day Walk. You don’t want to miss the inspiring day we have planned for you!

Weather

Moving Day Southeastern PA will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via email and the Moving Day website.

Registration

We ask that everyone who attends Moving Day register at www.MovingDaySoutheasternPA.org before the event. When you arrive, pick up your walk bib, I Move Ribbon, and Moving Day Passport at check in.

Program & Activities

To begin the walk, you’ll experience a powerful We Move Ceremony at 10:45 am that will unite us in our commitment to move against Parkinson’s. Every registered participant will get an I Move Ribbon representing your connection to Parkinson’s disease. You can use the ribbon during the ceremony and the We Move Exercises on the Moving Day Stage.

Come ready to MOVE and have fun! There will be music, dancing, exercise and LSVT demonstrations, kids activities, and more! Moving Day is a celebration of movement and spreading awareness; we want you to have the best experience possible!

Schedule of Events

9:30 am: Moving Day activities begin

9:45 – 10:30 am: Welcome & We Move exercise demos at the Moving Day Stage

10:45 am: We Move Ceremony begins, followed by the Moving Day Walk

Location & Parking

Moving Day Southeastern PA will take place at Bucks County Community College, Lower Parking Lot S4, located at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Limited, free parking will be available and parking spaces will be reserved for people with handicap placards. There will be directional signage as you approach the parking area. There are multiple parking lots on the campus. Please feel free to use the designated drop-off point at the front of the parking lot.

Walk Route

The Moving Day walk is for participants of all ages and all abilities. There will be 2 route options, please see below.

Route 1: Feelin’ Festive Route – Just under 1 mile, this route will have participants up, moving, and grooving throughout the festival area. This walk will take place around the perimeter of the main event parking lot. This is the most accessible route for those who have trouble navigating slopes and hills.

Route 2: Main Route – This 2-mile route will take you on a stroll past the campus, into Tyler State Park. This route does have some slopes and hills to navigate so please come prepared. We will have volunteers along this route to help if needed, but please plan your options accordingly. There will also be a halfway turnaround point for anyone wishing a shorter, 1-mile walk along this path.

Health & Safety

Our priority is the safety of all participants, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and staff. First aid will be available at the Event Information Tent. Security will be stationed at donation tents and throughout the campus. Our walk route will take place through Tyler State Park, please be mindful of uneven surfaces, as your safety is top of mind for us.

Restrooms

Restrooms will be available.

Refreshments

Bottled water and refreshments will be available onsite at our refreshments tent.

Pets

For everyone’s safety, please leave your pets at home.

Donations

You can drop off cash and check donations at the Registration Tent. If you prefer to make a credit card donation, please do so on the Moving Day website or the Parkinson’s Moving Day app before Moving Day. If you want check donations to appear in your fundraising total sooner, use the mobile check deposit feature in the Parkinson’s Moving Day app or mail them to the address below.

Moving Day Rewards

All registered participants that raise $100 or more will receive an exclusive Moving Day T-shirt. Click here to learn more about additional Moving Day Rewards. T-Shirts and rewards will be available for pick up day of the event at the Rewards Tent except for the All-Star Mover crewneck which will be redeemed and shipped post event to qualifying participants.
