It is that time of year again, and Ron and I are participating in Moving Day® Nashville, benefiting the Parkinson’s Foundation, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Centennial Park.  As it was last year (the first year in Nashville), the event will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities like yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more to celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.

Why Move for Moving Day®?  Parkinson’s is a neurological movement disorder that progressively works to hinder movement.  Perhaps you are like me prior to my PD diagnosis – walking, writing, feeding yourself, etc. – those are all automatic functions you do without even thinking.  Feeling that natural movement fade away helps you appreciate the JOY of smooth, automatic MOVEMENT.

Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me as we raise funds to provide much needed education and assistance to those here in Middle Tennessee who, like myself, understand the many-faceted challenges that Parkinson’s brings into our lives daily.   One example of the help PD patients here in the Nashville area have received (including me) is in the funding provided to the Rock Steady Boxing program.  This exercise program geared specifically for PD patients is a lifeline to those that seek the best health for the years that God has given them with Parkinson’s.

Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Support our mission to help every person diagnosed with Parkinson’s live their best possible life now. Your gift will help us fund better research, better treatment and better lives.
