My name is Alexandra Leary. I am a dedicated healthcare worker, pre-physician assistant student, and advocate for my community. Throughout my childhood, I formed memories of the precious moments I shared with my grandfather, who courageously battled Parkinson's Disease. His passing in 2014 motivated me to delve deeper into understanding Parkinson’s and seek ways to provide support to the Parkinson’s community. In 2017, I had the privilege of crossing paths with Cindy Finestone, a profoundly significant and cherished individual in my life. Cindy Finestone’s personal account and perspective on Parkinson’s Disease has provided me with an invaluable understanding of the illness and introduction to the Parkinson’s community.
This year, Cindy has guided me in becoming a Moving Day committee member. In my new role, I am striving to plan events, fundraise, recruit volunteers and moving day walkers, and discover new ways to raise awareness. My contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation are a tribute to my grandfathers memory, aimed at providing support to individuals like Cindy Finestone and fostering progress in the ongoing battle against Parkinson’s Disease.
Please join me in supporting this cause by donating, participating in Moving day, and raising awareness in our community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
